Sitex largely rents to contractors working on NSW government funded projects, which means there are exacting specifications the machines must meet to enter jobsites. Currently, these projects include the Sydney WestConnex and NorthConnex projects, as well as the Sydney CBD Light Rail projects and many more.
Managing director Jon Arnot says Kobelco's consistent reliability and performance for his clients has resulted in an excavator fleet consisting largely of Kobelco machines.
When Sitex first approached Sydney Trucks and Machinery (STM), Arnot identified a business opportunity to capitalise on Kobelco's brand advantage and develop a hiring model based on Kobelco performance and resale value.
Arnot says from the outset, STM understood those requirements and made sure the machines ticked all the boxes, delivered ready-to-go.
"It's important to my customers that their supplier understands the high level of detail and knowledge that is required to get anything over the line in these types of contracts," Arnot said.
"STM were familiar with our very specific needs as a provider to government projects. This was important - neither we nor our clients have time to waste on an excavator that doesn't meet specification."
Over the years Sitex has been adding Kobelco excavators to their fleet, they've been able to significantly grow their business.
"We have over 50 Kobelco excavators of different sizes across our fleet. We keep our fleet fresh and technologically up-to-date, constantly updating with new Kobelco machines," Arnot said.
"There's little for us to worry about when we deal with STM. We get exceptional pricing for such dependable machines as well as great after-sales support and servicing."
