Palfinger expands its comprehensive assistance systems range

Palfinger’s assistance systems integrate mechanical extensions into the overload protection system and weigh loads directly on the crane to further increase efficiency, and can easily be activated by the crane operator via the radio remote control PALcom P7.

The systems can be used on three of Palfinger’s heavy-duty loader cranes (PK 135.002 TEC 7, PK 165.002 TEC 7, and PK 200002 L SH) and on all of its TEC 7 loader crane models.

Mext integrates up to two mechanical extensions into the crane’s overload protection system.

“Although its cranes have a long reach – some with up to nine hydraulic extensions on the crane boom and six hydraulic extensions on the fly jib – further mechanical extensions on the fly jib can be required,” Palfinger continues.

“In these instances, the operator can select whether one or two mechanical extensions are being used and the crane’s performance is automatically adapted to the maximum load capacity of the extension, which negates the need for additional external sensors.”

The second new assistance system Weigh on the other hand allows crane operators to weigh the load directly using the crane.

“This provides operators with an overview of the positions to which they can lift the load, which makes the crane more efficient” Palfinger adds.

“The Weigh function also allows the data of the last 10 weighing jobs to be stored, providing an overview of operations.”
