Construction has ramped up at the site of the $90 million Qantas Group Flight Training Centre, following the installation of a tower crane.

Piling works have also been completed on the site, which will house a state-of-the-art facility next to Qantas’ Mascot headquarter, near Sydney Airport.

It will house 14 flight simulators, 10 static cockpit devices, cabin mock-ups, classroom facilities and an emergency procedure hall containing a pool of water for water landing training.

Construction of the facility is expected to provide around 2000 building jobs. Once operational, the facility will provide training resourced for Qantas’ pilots and cabin staff.

ADCO was selected to build the facility last year, which is anticipated to be complete in 2021.
