The first sod has been turned on Australia’s first 25hours Hotel in Paddington, New South Wales.
Australian-based Tonkin Zulaikha Greer are the architects behind the hotel which will be built by Richard Crookes Constructions.
Located on Oxford Street near the Sydney CBD, the original building was the site of Marshall’s Paddington Brewery before being replaced by West’s Olympia Pictures in 1911.
In the 90’s, it was home to the Grand Pacific Blue Room. Now, the location is set to feature a leisure and lifestyle precinct.
The development, scheduled for completion in 2023, will include a hotel with 105 guest rooms, a rooftop bar, central garden courtyard, destination restaurant, café, retail and entertainment and live performance facilities.

Central Element Director Wayne Chivas said the team is excited to be officially celebrating the commencement of construction.

“We are also excited to be working with Accor, a perfect partner for this unique building who will operate the hotel under their signature 25hours hotel lifestyle brand, a first for Sydney and Australia.”
NSW 24 Hour Economy Commissioner Mike Rodrigues welcomed the addition to Sydney’s lifestyle and entertainment scene.
“This development plays an important part in the future of Oxford Street and the future of the city,” Rodrigues said.
“The 25hours Paddington, restaurants, bars, live performance and music space will add a new vibrancy and diversity to this precinct, creating a dynamic and adventurous community and draw international and local visitors to the city.”
