The first sod has been turned on Osborne Park Hospital’s $15m Rehabilitation and Neonatal Nursery project.
The Western Australian Government aims to update Rehabilitation and Women’s and Newborn Services at Osborne Park Hospital by extending and refurbishing the current facilities.
Construction company ADCO was selected to deliver the upgrade, which will include building a new Maternity Assessment Unit and nursery on Level 2A to complement refurbishments in the Women’s and Newborn Services wing.
Rehabilitation facilities will be improved through the addition of a 16-bed rehabilitation ward, centralised therapy hub, garden and other refurbishment works.
The unit aim to help patients interact with each other and enhance recovery outcomes.
WA Health Minister Roger Cook, Member for Balcatta David Michael and Member for Kingsley Jessica Stojkovski attended an event to turn the sod, symbolically marking the beginning of site work.
