Second timber tower in Barangaroo reaches peak

The building, named Daramu House, is the second timber building at Barangaroo, and is made from around 2500 cubic metres of cross laminated timber and 2200 cubic metres of glulam (glue laminated timber.

It will include a 130-kilowatt solar array integrated with a roof top garden and will provide around 2000 employees with high quality office space.

Meaning tree of the Aboriginal Language of the Sydney district, Daramu House sits next to International House Sydney, Australia’s first commercial building constructed from timber.

Lendlease’s three business segments of development, construction and funds management collaborated to deliver the project and a Lendlease managed entity will own the asset on completion in late 2019.

Lendlease Executive General Manager, Barangaroo South Leanne Boyle said the project was the last piece of the puzzle of Barangaroo South’s commercial precinct.

Global shared workspace company We Work will lease all six floors of the commercial space upon completion.
