Probuild completes $430M The Glen redevelopment

Probuild has completed the final major stage of works on a $430 million retail redevelopment for The Glen in Melbourne’s south east.

Works began in 2017 to expand The Glen, a shopping complex in Melbourne’s Glen Waverley. An additional 78,000 square metres of gross leasable area have been added to the complex, providing space for more than 250 retailers, including David Jones, Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and Target.

Stage four was the final stage in the redevelopment and included the delivery of a new-format, two storey David Jones, an indoor-outdoor dining precinct with more than 10 restaurants, and 50 new boutiques and specialty stores.

Probuild Victoria’s Managing Director, Luke Stambolis, said the opening of the latest and final stage of The Glen was a wonderful achievement for Probuild and Vicinity Centres.

“We’ve enjoyed a relationship with Vicinity that extends past 30 years, having built every major retail stage of Chadstone,” he said.

Probuild will continue to be involved in The Glen as construction begins on Golden Age Group’s Sky Garden project.

Located on top of The Glen, Sky Garden aims to be Australia’s biggest residential project built over a retail destination.

It will include more than 500 new apartments in three towers, due for completion in 2021.
