Newman Hospital Development tops out

A $130 billion wage subsidy, called JobKeeper, will provide a flat payment of $1500 per fortnight for around six million workers through their employers to keep people in jobs.

Construction company ADCO has topped out the Newman Hospital Development for WA Country Health Service in the East Pilbara region of WA.

Guests from the WA Government, WA Country Health Service, BHP, Shire of East Pilbara, architects Silver Thomas Hanley, consultants, and trade partners attended a ceremony to celebrate the milestone.

ADCO has completed the structural roof and has installed the entry canopy on the project.

The new Newman Hospital facility will include 12 in-patient beds, six emergency department bays, two dental chairs and GP consultation spaces, in addition to dedicated rooms for outpatient consults, therapy, medical imaging and pathology.

Other health services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and mental health will also be supported when the facility is complete in 2023.
