Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan has unveiled the first design images of Lakelands Station, which will be built by construction company ADCO.

Lakelands is Perth’s tenth METRONET project, located seven kilometres north of Mandurah Station and 60 kilometres south of Perth.

The station will service the growing suburbs of Lakelands, Madora Bay, and Meadow Springs.

The design includes a pedestrian overpass, platforms on either side of the rail line, toilets, cycling facilities, bus interchange, approximately 400-bay car park, pedestrian and cyclist-friendly pathways, and landscaping featuring native species.

It draws on the local natural features like the wetlands, Serpentine River, Yalbanberup Pool and Paganoni Lake.

Construction work at Lakelands Station will begin in July and is expected to support 200 jobs during construction. It is planned to open in 2023.
