The Victorian Government has reinstated restrictions on construction work due to the ongoing level of community transmission of COVID-19.
Only 25 per cent of staff or five workers, whichever is higher, will be allowed on large-scale construction sites.
The restrictions will operate the same as those imposed in 2020 and will be in place except for critical infrastructure and emergency repairs.
Additionally, the State Government will impose a curfew from 9pm to 5am every night, with authorised workers required to carry permits when working and travelling for work.
The restrictions will commence from 11:59 PM on Monday 16th August.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said the restrictions are hard work for every Victorian.
“Everyone wants this pandemic to be over, but the rules are in place for a reason – we know they work and if we follow them together, we’ll be able to lift them sooner,” he said.
Health Minister Martin Foley said these measures will help get Victoria back to COVIDSafe settings faster.
“Victorians can also help us achieve this by getting themselves vaccinated as soon as they’re eligible,” Foley said.
Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said the new measures will help limit movement and allow the state to catch up and shut down the outbreak.
“At the moment we have a steady number of cases who are out in the community each day, and an increasing number of mystery cases, and we need to get ahead of that,” Sutton said.
