Designs for 13 public schools have been revealed, as part of the South Australian Government’s $1.3 billion investment into capital works, with architects appointed for each.
The investment aims to improve school facilities across the state, support sustainable enrolment growth in government schools and help transition Year 7 into high school.
The public schools undergoing an upgrade are: Aberfoyle Park High School, Banksia Park International High School, Gawler & District College, Grant High School, Heathfield High School, Le Fevre High School, Loxton High School, Mount Barker High School, Murray Bridge High School, Nuriootpa Primary School, Parafield Gardens High School, Paralowie School and Salisbury High School.
As part of the capital works plan, a new performing arts centre and commercial kitchen will be built at Banksia Park International High School, as well as refurbishment works for existing buildings to provide three additional classrooms.
Parafield Gardens High School will construct a new building including a gymnasium with change rooms and home economics facilities.

The redevelopment of facilities at Aberfoyle Park High School will include the construction of a performing arts centre, a modern learning space and collaborative areas.
Loxton High School will build a new agricultural studies building in addition to replacing ageing infrastructure with new classrooms.
A new preforming arts studio will also be built at Mount Barker High School, with significant refurbishment of a number of teaching spaces at the school.
Education Minister John Gardner said the concept designs reflect the local priorities of each school and will ensure that they are prepared for the future.
“We are delighted that these schools and their communities can start to see the new vision of their school come to life,” Gardner said.
“These concept plans reflect local priorities in a meaningful way and provide a glimpse of the modern, flexible, state-of-the-art learning spaces we are building.
“This is a significant investment in the future of our children and a boost to the economy of our state, with the works creating thousands of jobs statewide.”
