InfraBuild, a major manufacturer and supplier of steel products, has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.
Vik Bansal, joining the company from waste management company Cleanaway, was selected for the position at InfraBuild.
Bansal worked as Cleanaway’s CEO for six years and has held a range of executive roles across Australia, Asia, and the United States over the last 20 years. This includes three years as General Manager of the OneSteel (now InfraBuild) business responsible for steel distribution and metal processing services.
“Vik knows our industry very well and has runs on the board as a successful chief executive of an ASX100 company, successfully creating value and driving business transformation,” Executive Chairman Sanjeev Gupta said.
“He is aligned with our plans for InfraBuild, and the board is pleased to have him joining us to build on the exceptional work of Dak Patel and the team.”

Bansal said he is incredibly encouraged by the company’s results, its prized infrastructure and competitive positioning.
“With strong market demand, InfraBuild is well-poised to continue on its recent trajectory,” he said.
Patel will remain involved with the broader group as a Director of InfraBuild.
Gupta said Dak has led a remarkable turnaround at InfraBuild.
“Recent financial results have been strong and he has built the foundations for future growth. I am delighted that we will continue to have access to Dak’s experience and commercial judgement in his continuing roles,” Gupta said.
Bansal commences his role as CEO on 1 July 2021. He will be a member of the InfraBuild board and will report to the Executive Chairman.
