Construction company GHD has announced it will merge with a Northern Australian based civil and structural engineering company.
28 Flanagan Consulting Group (FCG) employees will join GHD teams in Cairns, Townsville and Darwin.
GHD General Manager – Australia, Phil Duthie, said both companies are committed to maintaining and growing their significant presence close to clients in Northern Australia.
“We are responding to our clients’ need for consultants who understand the project complexities in Northern Australia,” he said.
“Together, we are expanding the expertise, leadership and capacity to deliver projects in the region, enhancing and growing services such as urban development, roads, building structures, environmental planning and project management.”

FCG has delivered engineering, planning and project management services for the last 28 years.
GHD, established in 1928, is a global company that provides engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services to clients in the private and public sectors.
FCG Chairman, Pat Flanagan, said the two companies have partnered before on many projects and share a similar culture and values.
“Joining a larger employee-owned organisation will give the FCG team new opportunities for personal and professional growth as part of GHD’s connected network across Australia and globally,” he said.
The company merger will be effective on 1 July 2019.
