EOI open for Infrastructure WA board

The Western Australian Government is calling for expressions of interest (EOI) to join the Infrastructure WA board, to provide independent advice on long-term infrastructure priorities.

The Western Australian Government is calling for expressions of interest (EOI) to join the Infrastructure WA board, to provide independent advice on long-term infrastructure priorities.

Infrastructure WA will act as an advisory body to the State Government to ensure maximum value from every dollar spent on major proposals.

Its key roles include preparing a 20-year State Infrastructure Strategy, assessing and reporting on major infrastructure proposals prior to investment decisions, providing funding and financing advice, and co-ordinating WA’s submission’s to Infrastructure Australia.

The EOI seeks applicants with leadership qualities and significant experience in infrastructure policy, planning, strategy, funding, financing and delivery.

John Langoulant has been appointed as chairperson-designate and will oversee the expression of interest process.

WA Premier Mark McGowan said the board will support accountable and transparent decision-making for future infrastructure investment in Western Australia.

“Infrastructure WA will create a pipeline of investment in WA that will deliver important infrastructure and long-term jobs,” McGowan said.

“It will also address a number of issues that were highlighted in the Special Inquiry into Government Programs and Projects. The Infrastructure WA board will provide the necessary governance to ensure these issues are addressed.

“Establishing Infrastructure WA will support a strong economy through improving infrastructure planning, providing greater business certainty and supporting the creation of jobs.”
