Australian construction contractor BESIX Watpac has appointed new executives to strengthen its focus on transport and marine infrastructure.
Nick Luzar was appointed as Chief Operating Officer, joining Executive Chairman Jean-Pol Bouharmont and CEO Mark Baker.
BESIX Watpac CEO Mark Baker said the Chief Operating Officer role is an important addition to the company’s management structure.
“Nick’s project management and business experience will bring a new dimension to the company and help guide all our project teams across Australia to achieve the level of operational excellence we are committed to delivering for our clients,” Baker said.
Luzar is a UNSW graduate with a Bachelor of Building and an Executive MBA and his career portfolio matches the BESIX Watpac strategy with experience in marine infrastructure, rail, health and education facilities and a wide range of building projects.

He was worked with Thiess, John Holland, Laing O’Rourke, Acciona and most recently Hansen and Yuncken as NSW/ACT State Manager.
