Application lodged for $130M Sydney Airport hotel

A joint venture between construction firm Hickory and property investment groups Boston Global and Atlas Investment Corporation has lodged a development application for a $130 million gateway hotel tower near Sydney Airport.

A joint venture between construction firm Hickory and property investment groups Boston Global and Atlas Investment Corporation has lodged a development application for a $130 million gateway hotel tower near Sydney Airport.

The proposed development includes a 12-storey hotel, located at 210 O’Riordan Street, Mascot, one of the last freehold land available in the area and around 850 metres from the Sydney Airport.

Designed by architects Rothelowman, the 224-room hotel will include a dedicated rooftop sky lounge, a rooftop bar and dining facilities, and views over airport runways and the CBD.

The proposed development would also include a gym and wellness facilities, conference rooms and meeting spaces, and around 132 above-ground parking spaces. A retail showroom, branding and advertising spaces are also outlined in the plans.

“The project will deliver outstanding amenity to the area, and welcome both domestic and international travellers upon completion in 2024,” Argyrou said.

Atlas Founder and Director Alexander Rodakis said, “In our first partnership together, we are thrilled to have reached this landmark milestone alongside our strategic partners Hickory and Boston Global.”

If approved, Hickory expects to start construction on the hotel in August 2022. Completion is slated for March 2024.
