The Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority (VHHSBA) will host an industry briefing for small and medium sized businesses looking to get involved in the $115 million Wonthaggi Hospital Expansion project.
Hosted in conjunction with the Industry Capability Network, the VHHSBA will host a webinar on Tuesday 28 July for local businesses interested in being part of the head contractor bid teams to deliver the expansion.
The Wonthaggi Hospital Expansion will deliver three new operating theatres plus a procedure room, a new emergency department with 18 additional treatment spaces, and a new 32-bed inpatient ward.
The expansion will allow the hospital to treat an additional 26,000 emergency patients every year. It is also expected to create up to 345 jobs during construction.
VHHSBA CEO Rob Fiske said early works are underway and construction is expected to be completed by 2023.

“If you are a local small or medium enterprise interested in being part of the head contractor team, please join us to hear about how you can get involved,” Fiske said.
“Main works are expected to commence from late-2020.”
