Laing O’Rourke has won the Early Works Package for the Melbourne Airport Rail project.
More than 100 utilities, including critical services such as water, gas and electricity, along the rail route will be relocated to clear the way for the new infrastructure to be built.
The company aims to minimise impacts to local business and the day to day lives of the community during the works.
Laing O’Rourke Director – Clients & Markets, Mark Dimmock, said the company is delighted to partner with the Victorian and Australian Governments to begin the process to transform the way Victorians travel to Melbourne Airport.
“We are extremely proud to be trusted with this critical first step for Melbourne Airport Rail.”
