CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors has been selected as the preferred proponent to deliver an airport infrastructure upgrade worth around $189 million.
The company will deliver Auckland Airport’s international taxiway and remote stands project.
Works will include construction of an additional taxiway, extension of an existing taxiway and six remote stands with in-ground jet fuel reticulation.
It is part of the airport’s major capital works program that aims to expand existing aeronautical infrastructure of New Zealand’s largest and busiest airport.

“CIMIC Group and CPB Contractors are focused on delivering essential infrastructure for New Zealand communities and it is our privilege to be playing an integral role in the transformation of Auckland Airport,” CIMIC Group Chief Executive Officer Michael Wright said.
More than one million cubic metres of earthworks and basecourse will be included, with 169,000 square metres of concrete pavement, construction of 3.2 kilometres of stormwater drainage, runoff treatment lagoon, and a 2.2 kilometre in-ground jet fuel network.
“We look forward to building a close ongoing relationship with Auckland Airport and to delivering this important infrastructure project efficiently and to the highest safety standards,” CPB Contractors Managing Director Juan Santamaria said.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-2019, with expected completion by late 2021.
