The planning management contract was also awarded to Blueprint Group Australia and appointed John R Brogan was selected to be the architect.

ADCO will engage the local subcontractor market, offering more than 50 trade packages for project delivery. The company projects more than 500,000 hours of site work will be expended during the course of construction.

A peak of 150 people will be on site at any one time and ADCO aims to make the site a major contributor to local employment.

“The new development will be a robust addition to the existing retail offering in Bennetts Green,” he said.

“We are proud to be delivering another quality development for our clients Spotlight Retail Group and for the people of Newcastle.”

Construction is estimated to begin at the end of August and is scheduled for completion in late 2020.
