Property group Pindan has appointed a Sunshine Coast-based construction company to build an apartment project in Maroochydore, Queensland.
RCQ Construction secured the $11 million contract to deliver two five level buildings with 85 apartments of various sizes, including balconies or terraces and the Cotton Tree waterfront dining area.
The Plaza Central apartment project was designed by local firm Sprout Architects and located 100 metres from the Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre It’s a short drive to local beaches and a short walk to the Maroochydore CBD.
Pindan Acquisition Manager Remi Rafter said the company was pleased construction of the contemporary development on Pikki Street would begin in September.

“We are thrilled to have the award-winning RCQ Construction, one of the Sunshine Coast’s largest construction companies with more than 30 years of experience, on board for this exciting project,” Rafter said.
Pindan Sales Manager Cathie Price said the project aims to meet the rising demand in the market for affordable, low-maintenance urban-coastal living in Maroochydore.
“This development has quickly been met with strong demand and it’s now enjoying another level of interest thanks to the $25,000 Federal Building Package and Queensland’s $15,000 First Home Buyer Grant,” Price said.
“With construction due to commence soon, Plaza Central is ideally placed to meet the construction eligibility criteria of commencing within three months from the contract date, enabling eligible first home buyers to secure up to $40,000 worth of grants.”
Construction is due for completion in the last quarter of 2021.
