Construction hits new milestone on Shellharbour Marina

It follows the completion of piling works for the inner harbour and operators secured for the hotel and tavern.

The current piling works will support the construction of a boat maintenance facility, dry storage, and service and maintenance facilities.

The Waterfront is a joint development between Frasers Property Australia and the Shellharbour City Council. It is a masterplanned community located next to the coast and surrounded by beaches, parks and wetlands.

The 270-berth marina will be delivered in three stages and has been designed to accommodate vessels up to 30 metres. The first 116 berths will be ready in mid-2021 with the second and third stages to be delivered in 2023 and 2025.

Shellharbour City Council has sought Expressions of Interest from operators to manage the maintenance facility and berth leasing, with a shortlist developed and announcement to be made in the near future.

Oscars Hotel was secured as the owner-operator of the hotel at The Waterfront, which aims to be a key piece of the region’s tourism infrastructure. Balmoral Hospitality was named as the owner-operator of the tavern and dining precinct.
