Local contractors win Katherine Showgrounds upgrade tenders

Four local contractors have been awarded the tender for civil and yard building works as part of the Northern Territory Government’s Katherine Showgrounds and Multipurpose Centre upgrade.

The $2.2 million investment aims to upgrade amenities, roads, air conditioning, rodeo and campdraft infrastructure, along with better water, power and sewerage connections at the showgrounds.

Fletcher’s Plumbing and Gas Fitters were selected for plumbing upgrades, All Regions Electricals for electrical upgrades, Remote Civil for loop road and service road works and Katherine Constructions for general building works.

The upgrade works are expected to support around 20 local jobs and provide a boost to local Katherine businesses.

The Northern Territory Government will work in partnership with the Katherine Town Council to ensure that the funding supports the community’s key priorities.
