Joint venture wins 10-year Sydney infrastructure contract

John Holland, Lendlease services, Comdain Infrastructure and WSP will work together as the Delivering for Customers (D4C) joint venture (JV) to maintain the health of Sydney’s waterways.

The contract is part of a program to ensure reliable water infrastructure for the city’s growing population will be responsible for the delivery of design construction, maintenance and facility management across Sydney Water’s assets in the Southern region for the next 10 years.

Sydney Water appointed the JV as a Regional Delivery Contractor under its Partnering for Success program. The JV will be responsible for improving water assets such as beaches, river and tributaries.

The D4C integrated regional team has committed to delivering at least 70 per cent of the works through its directly employed workforce and owned plant.

D4C Program Director Phil Jones said the appointment of the joint venture reflects the strong track record of the team in delivering positive outcomes for Sydney Water and its customers.

“Our team has a long and successful history of working with Sydney Water. Being awarded this contract reinforces the strong relationship between our organisations and Sydney Water’s trust in us to provide solutions that meet the future needs of their customers,” Jones said.

The contract will commence in January 2020 and during delivery will aim to see more than 400 personnel working across a wide range of water infrastructure projects throughout the region.
