National President appointed for Engineers Australia

A new National President and Board Chair of Engineers Australia has been selected, and will take up the position in 2020.

A new National President and Board Chair of Engineers Australia has been selected, and will take up the position in 2020.

Chris Champion, Director International of Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) and Chair of National Asset Management Strategy (NAMS) Canada was elected for the position.

NAMS Canada is a not-for profit subsidiary of IPWEA which has taken IPWEA’s training and other resources to North America.

From 2000 to 2015 Champion was CEO of IPWEA following a 30-year local government engineering career. He is an Emeritus Fellow of IPWEA and a Fellow of Engineers Australia.

Champion is also a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has frequently features on Engineers Australia’s top 100 most Influential Engineers list since its inception in 2004.
