Contract won to build $70M Gold Coast sports hub

A $70 million contract has been awarded to build the Pimpama Sports Hub on the Gold Coast, which aims to address the local community’s needs.

A $70 million contract has been awarded to build the Pimpama Sports Hub on the Gold Coast, which aims to address the local community’s needs.

ADCO will begin construction on the facility in October, which will be built in two separate portions, divided by a natural watercourse.

It will include an aquatic centre with five pools, café, a health and fitness centre, community centres, meeting and function rooms, multipurpose hall, eight tennis courts, a 12-court netball facility, community parks, carparking and a new intersection on Rifle Range Road.

The aquatic centre will include an Olympic sized swimming pool, 10-lane outdoor swimming pool, indoor 25-metres pool, training and warm water therapy pools and an outdoor children’s pool.

The first stage of construction is expected to be finished in September 2020, with pools and other facilities to be finished in August 2021.

ADCO said in a release it is looking forward to working with the City of Gold Coast on the Sports Hub to deliver needed community infrastructure.
