Nominations open for 2019 Victorian Premier’s Design Awards

Tasmania has recorded the highest number of monthly dwelling approvals in a decade, with 369 being reported, which is expected to continue according to the state government.

Designers and architects are encouraged to enter nominations for the 2019 Victorian Premier’s Design Awards.

Established by the Victorian Government in 1996, the Design Awards aim to showcase designers and businesses that have excelled in their use of design to transform products, services, spaces and experiences.

It also aims to recognise the impact of a sector which generates more than $5 billion each year and employs 85,000 Victorians.

Awards are presented across seven areas, including Architectural Design, Communication Design, Design Strategy, Digital Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, and Service Design.

All category winners go into the running for the Design of the Year award, which is given to a project that exemplifies design excellence.
