Builder selected for $150M school construction

The Victorian Government has awarded two contracts totalling $150 million for its 2020 New Schools Project.

ADCO was named the Builder of Choice for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) and will begin working on eight new primary schools as part of the project.

The schools, some with Early learning Centres, will be built in key growth areas across Victoria in time for the 2020 school year.

ADCO CEO Neil Harding said the previous experience on Victorian schools influences ADCO’s selection as builder.

“Upon our completion of Richmond High School and award-winning South Melbourne Primary School, VSBA recognised ADCO’s confidence in completing both buildings to a high standard and in a timely manner,” he said.

“ADCO demonstrated a clear understanding of the brief, identified the key challenges and highlighted how we are best placed to manage this important state government project.”
