Tender released for Batemans Bay Community Health facility

The NSW Government has released the main works construction tender for the Batemans Bay Community Health facility, a $20 million project to address the current and future healthcare needs of the local community.

New South Wales Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park said the new facility would provide a modern, dedicated healthcare space to support a range of community health needs, benefiting patients, families and carers.

“The release of the construction tender is a significant milestone…and we’re grateful for the input provided by staff and stakeholders into the planning process for the project,” said Park. “We encourage the community to provide their final feedback on the plans while they are on public exhibition.”

The new facility will deliver essential community-based health services for Batemans Bay and surrounding areas, including allied health, child and family services, and community mental health support. It will feature dedicated spaces for consultations, treatments, pathology, group sessions, and a gymnasium. The facility will also complement services provided by the new $330 million Eurobodalla Regional Hospital.

Located on the existing Batemans Bay Hospital site, the facility will be close to the Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, which opened in December 2023, providing convenient access to a range of acute and non-acute health services.

The Review of Environmental Factors is now on public exhibition as part of the planning process, and the community is invited to view and comment on the plans through Health Infrastructure’s website until midnight, Monday, 16 December 2024.

Following the tender process, a builder will be engaged to finalise project scope, with a construction timeline expected in early 2025. Construction is anticipated to begin later in the year, with regular updates to be provided as the project progresses.
