Stockland’s first workplace building within the MPark precinct has achieved a 6 Star Green Star Design and As-Built v1.3 rating from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
The rating – the highest available under GBCA’s Design & As-Built assessment system – recognises excellence across eight categories, including resilience, nature and leadership.
Frank Ianni, Stockland’s head of workplace development, said the achievement reflects a sustainability-first approach across the project’s entire lifecycle.
“We are proud to have achieved a 6 Star Green Star rating at 11 Khartoum Road. The team has worked hard to create a vibrant and sustainable workplace building that prioritises smart design, energy efficiency, and the use of low carbon materials,” said Ianni.
“We know that the sustainability credentials of buildings are a key decision driver for tenants and investors who actively seek future-ready buildings. 11 Khartoum Road aligns not only to our sustainability values and targets, but those of our tenants, too.”

GBCA CEO Davina Rooney described the building as “a glimpse into the future of work.”
“Here, Stockland has created an impressive environment that brings people together while helping tenants meet their ESG goals,” said Rooney. “11 Khartoum Road showcases Stockland’s commitment to action on climate change, and GBCA congratulates all involved.”
Fully electric and powered by renewables, the building prioritises environmental performance throughout. Delivered in collaboration with builder Taylor, it forms part of MPark’s first stage – a three-hectare mixed-use commercial precinct in the heart of the Macquarie Park Innovation District.
Stockland and Taylor embedded sustainability throughout the construction process, while the broader MPark development – delivered in partnership with Ivanhoé Cambridge, the real estate group of CDPQ – reflects the sustainable investment ambitions of both organisations.
As completion of MPark Stage 1 approaches, Stockland plans to further reduce construction emissions, embed circular design principles, and target net zero operational carbon. Engagement with the local Dharug and First Nations community is also ongoing, to ensure Designing with Country principles are meaningfully integrated across the precinct
This is Stockland’s first 6 Star Green Star Design and As-Built v1.3 rating for a workplace building, marking another step in its broader sustainability journey.
