Auckland Airport has selected a contractor to deliver Stage Two of its NZ$221 million ($209.8 million) Taxiway Mike and Remote Stands project.
CPB Contractors will build a new taxiway, extend an existing taxiway and deliver six remote stands with in-ground jet fuel reticulation as part of the capital works program.
Auckland Airport, New Zealand’s largest and busiest airport, is undertaking the upgrade to expand its capacity further.
Works will include 900,000 cubic metres of earthworks, laying 130,000 cubic metres of aggregate basecourse, 168,000 square metres of concrete pavement, building 3200 metres of storm water drainage system, runoff and treatment lagoon, and a 2200 metres in-ground jet fuel network.
CIMIC Group Chief Executive Officer, Michael Wright, said New Zealand remains an important focus for the Group as it expands its delivery of infrastructure.

“The Auckland Airport works are an important addition to our strong portfolio of transport and social infrastructure projects across the country,” Wright said.
CPB Contractors Managing Director, Juan Santamaria, said the company has a strong and experienced team in New Zealand.
“We look forward to working closely with Auckland Airport to deliver this important project safely and efficiently,” Santamaria.
The project is scheduled for completion by October 2021.
